Cruising and skating on one board: the Marvin Cruiser from BTFL

Seven layers of Canadian maple, pressed together with resin glue: that’s what the Marvin Cruiser’s deck is built on. The board is a hybrid of a skateboard and a longboard, featuring a skateboard deck, skateboard trucks, and cruiser wheels. You can cruise leisurely through the city while still trying out classic skate tricks, since the 58-mm wheels are easy to pop. The soft 80A wheels are more comfortable on streets than hard street wheels. You can also easily attach the compact deck to your backpack.

Features:

Deck 8" x 31.75": 7-ply maple with a stiff flex, stable underfoot
Wheels 58 x 32 mm, 80A: roll smoothly while still allowing for pop
Bushings 90A: tight steering response at speed
Trucks 5.5" TKP, wheelbase 35.5 cm: a compact setup that offers controlled handling
ABEC9 ball bearings: ensure smooth rolling
Weight 2.7 kg: easy to carry when you’re not riding

Who it’s for:

According to the manufacturer, suitable for beginners, intermediate riders, and kids, with a rider weight of up to 100 kg.

Trucks

Information about the correct skateboard truck width:

All truck manufacturers provide their trucks in different size charts. For an 8" deck, you can use an Independent 139", a Thunder 147", or a Titus 5.3" truck. To determine which truck fits perfectly under your deck, consult the size chart. The length of the truck axle should ideally match the width of the deck. Trucks should not be wider than the deck itself whenever possible. When in doubt, you can simply follow our recommendations for the appropriate deck width when choosing your trucks.

Truck Height:

Truck height is measured from the baseplate to the center of the axle. There are three different types of truck constructions that primarily differ in their height:

Low trucks provide a more direct board feel due to their lower center of gravity but should only be used with wheels up to 53mm to avoid wheel bite.

Mid trucks are the standard when it comes to truck height.

High trucks offer a wider turning angle due to their additional height.

For more detailed information on skateboard trucks, you can refer to the Titus Skateboard Guide.

How we handle reviews: Anyone can review this item – you do not need to have made a purchase from us to do so. We have been able to link reviews marked ‘Verified’ to an actual order placed in our shop. For reviews without this mark, we have no proof of purchase; we cannot therefore confirm that the person owns the item. The star rating is the average of all published reviews, whether verified or not. Reviews are published without prior review by us, whether positive or critical. We will only remove a review retrospectively if it is offensive, discriminatory or clearly biased, does not relate to the item being reviewed, infringes the rights of third parties or contains advertising. A poor review alone is never a reason for removal.
