Element Skateboards makesclothes for guys and girls as well as skateboard hardware oraccessories likebackpacks. The company’s roots go back to the year 1992. Johnny Schillereff founded a company calledUnderworld Element. The label had a very East Coast vibe and included tons of street skating legends likeJulien Stranger, Jefferson Pang, Erik Pupecki and Pepe Martinez. The company was unfortunately very short-lived.
The decline of Underworld marked the start of a new era which would end up having a long term effect on theskateboardand streetwear world. Schillereff reinvented his brand image and designed his iconic tree logo, which was meant to representhis label’s connection to nature and its positive attitude. The brand belongs toBillabongsince 2002.
