Information on batteries and rechargeable batteries

(1) Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. Some of them contain harmful substances. You are therefore obliged to return them so that they can be collected separately and are not disposed of together with unsorted municipal waste. This ensures that they can be disposed of properly. Improper storage or disposal of waste batteries can harm health and the environment. Waste batteries also contain important raw materials, so recycling them makes sense.
(2) Old batteries and rechargeable batteries can be handed in free of charge at municipal public collection points or wherever batteries and rechargeable batteries of the respective type are sold. Batteries and rechargeable batteries purchased from us can also be returned free of charge after use to the following address: Im Derdel 18-24, 48161 Münster, Germany. You may also send the batteries or rechargeable batteries to this address by post. Please make sure to use sufficient postage. When you order a battery, we inform you of the return option(s) nearest to you. Alternatively, we offer to take back the waste battery free of charge at the place of delivery or at a local collection point.
(3) Batteries and rechargeable batteries marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol shown below must not be disposed of with household waste:

The following letter codes are the chemical symbols of the respective heavy metals. They indicate harmful substances contained in the batteries or rechargeable batteries:
Pb: Contains lead
Cd: Contains cadmium
Hg: Contains mercury
(4) This information is provided in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 (EU Batteries Regulation).
