The Best Skate Tool is an extremely handy skate key from Independent Trucks for mounting all the components of your skateboard.

With the Independent Best Skate Tool, you can assemble and disassemble all single components of your skateboard wherever you go, without carrying a whole tool box. Self-evidently, it comes with the common sockets that fit the kingpin nuts, the axle nuts and the nuts of the regular mounting bolts. A Phillips screwdriver and two Allen wrenches are included, as well.

Apart from these standard tools, the Best Skate Tool from Independent Trucks also features a convenient bearing press and an axle rethreader. The bearing press helps you to insert and remove the bearings from your wheels easily and without risking damage and the axle rethreader is the ideal tool to make a worn out axle thread usable again. Thus, you can use the bearing press regularly without worrying about not being able to put the axle nuts back on.

Altogether, the Independent Best Skate Tool offers you anything that you need to change and maintain your skate setup professionally.

Trucks

Information about the correct skateboard truck width:

All truck manufacturers provide their trucks in different size charts. For an 8" deck, you can use an Independent 139", a Thunder 147", or a Titus 5.3" truck. To determine which truck fits perfectly under your deck, consult the size chart. The length of the truck axle should ideally match the width of the deck. Trucks should not be wider than the deck itself whenever possible. When in doubt, you can simply follow our recommendations for the appropriate deck width when choosing your trucks.

Truck Height:

Truck height is measured from the baseplate to the center of the axle. There are three different types of truck constructions that primarily differ in their height:

Low trucks provide a more direct board feel due to their lower center of gravity but should only be used with wheels up to 53mm to avoid wheel bite.

Mid trucks are the standard when it comes to truck height.

High trucks offer a wider turning angle due to their additional height.
