DVS Shoes - More than 20 Years in the Skateboarding Business
Founded in America in 1995 by Tim, Brian and Kevin Gavin and Mike Dunlap, DVS Shoes has since become something of an old name in the industry. DVS belongs to Podium Distribution, which owns Lakai and many others. DVS is known for their extensive collection of skate shoes, but also for their association with pro skater Daewon Song. Daewon Song’s been around almost as long as the company itself and has released more than 14 of his very own signature shoe models. After 19 years of skating for the label, Daewon eventually switched to adidas Skateboarding. Proof of his skills can be found in all the old DVS videos, including the legendary “Skate More” video. Also worth watching is Dudes Dudes Dudes, which includes a great part by Torey Pudwill.
DVS Technology: High Performance Skate Shoe
Innovative details like breathable padding, extra flexible soles and a stitch-free design keep DVS up-to-date with their customers’ needs. The company is constantly improving their methods so they can offer modern skaters the best shoes on the market. DVS even has some vegan shoe models which are completely synthetic.
The DVS Family
In spite of DVS veteran Daewon Song’s transfer to adidas, lots of other big names such as Chico Brenes, Walker Ryan, Kerry Getz, Brad McClain, Zack Wallin and Jon Nguyen skate for the label. DVS is also active in snowboarding and motocross and have their own teams for both types of sports.Find the right streetwear to go with the current DVS shoe collection in our Volcom Online Shop, among other places!
