Poetic Collective
The Poetic Collective was founded in the spring of 2014 by Tom Botwid. At the time, he was studying art history in Berlin, and through Poetic, he is pursuing his dream of combining his two passions:skateboarding and art.In addition to Tom and his brother Paul, the collective includes several other friends who all contribute through skateboarding. These include Simon Källkvist, Sarah Meurl, Klas Andersson, Danny Westin, Nils Lilja, John Nordh, and Peter Johansson.
The Artistic Aspect of the Poetic Collective
Botwid’s motivation for starting the Poetic Collective was the inspiration he drew from the visual arts, which he wanted to incorporate into skateboarding. So it’s no surprise that the extraordinary graphics are derived from paintings by Tim and Paul Botwid. This is how the Poetic Collective stands out from the crowd and has carved out its own niche. The collective’s origins should not be underestimated either. Tim Botwid hails from Malmö, a city known not only for skateboarding but also for its vibrant Scandinavian design scene —a creative environment where inspiration practically grows on trees. It’s the perfect foundation for a young and unconventional brand like the Poetic Collective.
