Based on filmmaker Ryan Gershell's favorite camera, the legendary Sony VX 1000, today's brand originated in one of his video projects with a group of skateboarders from San Francisco. The name was quickly transferred to this skate crew, which became known for its crazy and sometimes life-threatening downhill runs. After this first video, every skateboarder worldwide knew what the term “GX1000” stood for, and what could be more obvious than simply founding a brand with this name?
