TITUS "Locals Only" Münster | German Skateboard Amateur Championships 2024

Who will get the ticket for the 2024 final?

New year, new game, new luck: the TITUS Locals Only Competition is entering the next round. Since 2009, the German amateur skateboarding championships have been held in over 20 cities and the first and second-placed riders can look forward to a ticket to the grand final in Cologne in September. The second weekend of June 2024 saw the start of the events in Cologne, Dresden, Karlsruhe, Berlin, Leipzig and Münster, where we were there for you. The weather was perfect, there were plenty of starters and spectators and the skateboarding was top-notch! Enjoy!

It's always extremely cool to see how kids improve over the years. If you look at the history of the TITUS Locals Only Competition, there have been a hell of a lot of riders since 2009 who have gone on to make it into the sponsored ranks, most notably Jost Arens and Gino Körner. And so, no matter in which city, it is always extremely exciting to see who will emerge as the winner of the qualification for the final. To cut a long story short, Jan Rehring also won the event in Münster in 2024, this time without a helmet but with a few new tricks. At this point, we can talk about outstanding young talent from Münster with a clear conscience, especially as his homies in the same age group have also significantly expanded their “bag of tricks”. Keep it up boys!

Another interesting thing about TLO is that you always see familiar faces. If you look at the results of the last 15 years, you'll find skateboarders who won years ago, then missed out again and suddenly end up back on the podium. The first person who comes to mind is Michael Griggs from Karlsruhe, but in the specific case of Münster this year it was Sean Bosnyak, who hadn't been seen on a skateboard, let alone at a contest, for a long time. Nevertheless, Sean doesn't seem to have forgotten anything over the years and ended up (for me) completely surprisingly in 3rd place at the end of the day! Very cool Sean!

As in previous years, the title of oldest starter went to a Münster veteran, 47-year-old Michael Kasprik. His son Tim has also been getting better and better for years and we can only congratulate both of them on this fantastic “skate family”. After the actual contest there was a little “stuff for best tricks” over the rooftop and so at the end of the day all rippers were made happy with a bit of stuff. Many thanks to all the sponsors, especially Etnies, Monster Energy and Toy Machine, the TITUS Münster team for the organization and the numerous spectators. Oh, and of course Petrus, who contributed to a perfect Sunday event with glorious weather! See you in Cologne-Kalk on 21 and 22.09.2024!
