Since the release of Stacy Peralta's brilliant documentary 'Dogtown and Z-Boys' and the motion picture 'Lords of Dogtown', starring the late Heath Ledger, this legendary brand should be known to each and every skater out there. Dogtown was founded in the 1970s by Jim Muir and Wes "Bulldog" Humpston. The name 'Dogtown' is a moniker for the neighborhood around the former Pacific Ocean Park in Venice, California. The brand made history with hand-painted decks, which today, since the re-launch of Dogtown are available again as re-issues. The brand also offers new school decks, cruisers, and skateboard wheels. The Dogtown skate team consists of Tosh Townend, Tyler Hendley, and Andrew Pott, as well as old school legende "Maddog" Henderson.
